Dubai, United Arab Emirates (19 December 2012) - Nissan Middle East has given its backing to the latest drag race organised by GTZ and the Middle East GT-R Owners Club (MEGTROC). The event took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and a total of 335 members from the GTZ Club and MEGTROC participated in a day filled with fun activities and driving excitement.
The event started at Ibn Battuta mall in Dubai where a convoy of Nissan and Infiniti sport cars met, helped by Dubai Police, and set out in convoy to the world-famous circuit in Abu Dhabi for the drag racing.
Following a hotly-contested evening of races, Mohammed Ali Ahli in his Nissan GT-R recorded the shortest to cover the quarter-mile distance from a standing start in a phenomenal 9.804 seconds.
The GTZ Club was launched in September 2008 by Samer Al Saleh who has built it into the region’s largest Nissan and Infiniti enthusiasts’ club.
