Nissan Middle East receives MC-GOM(Management Committee - General Overseas Market) Chairman award for FY07 high performance and achievement

Nissan Middle East has successfully posted a record sales achievement of 184,000 units for fiscal year 2007, an increase of 34.4 percent over fiscal year 2006. The General Overseas Markets or GOM (all markets other than US, Japan and Europe) which includes the Middle East is continuing to grow as a major contributor to global sales. Nissan Middle East also announced a new accolade to its list of accomplishments after receiving the MC-GOM (Management Committee - General Overseas Market) Chairman award for its FY07 high performance and achievement.

The award was presented today to Mr. Toru HASEGAWA, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East (NMEF) by Mr. Colin Dodge, Senior Vice President & MC-GOM Chairman and member of the Executive Committee of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

A total of 34 applications where part of this year’s competition which focused on three main criteria: major achievements or contributions to GOM region and Global Nissan key objectives, making things happen even if budget and resources are limited and the NISSAN WAY Mindset and Actions being put into practice.

“Nissan was the first Japanese auto brand to establish a fully fledged regional HQ presence on the ground in the Middle East in 1994. We are deeply committed to the Middle East market as it is one of the fastest growing auto markets in the region. The Chairman award is an opportunity to extend our recognition to all Nissan employees and further motivate each individual working in the GOM region. It is also a good opportunity for the management to communicate on NISSAN WAY mindset and actions with all its employees,” said Colin Dodge, Senior Vice President.

Nissan Middle East was awarded the Chairman award for its high performance in the Middle East and delivering the Nissan Value-up objective (mid-term sales volume objective) one year ahead of plan. All submissions received both regional and international feedback and where ranked by the Corporate Vice Presidents and other jury members from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

“Key success factors for FY07 NMEF operations were mainly from geographical expansion, Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) enhancement, INFINITI enhancement and effective launch of New Altima sedan.  We believe that proper implementation of “Value-Up” Corporate Breakthroughs were key to the grand success witnessed by NMEF, in addition to the steady improvement of our business base such as customer satisfaction, after sales quality and training for front-line staff,” noted Hasegawa.
