New Altima Records Amazing Sales Growth

Since it landed on the GCC market, Nissan’s 2008 Altima has jumped sales records; it is up by 75 per cent on sales over the corresponding model in the same period last year.

“Altima is very popular and sales of the 2008 model have really taken off. The new model is equipped with an array of advanced features that set it straight ahead of all competitors in its class,” says Hirotaka Mima, Passenger Vehicle Brand Manager at Nissan Middle East.

“This new Altima feels like a completely different and more luxurious vehicle in terms of design, performance, use of quality materials and available amenities – it’s quiet, comfortable and rewarding. Customers have really responded enthusiastically as sales demonstrate”, added Mima.

The new model boasts an array of advanced features such as Nissan’s ‘intelligent key’ with push button ignition, built-in hands-free Bluetooth, 9-speaker Bose audio system with iPod connection, dual-zone automatic climate control and steering wheel-mounted controls for Bluetooth, Audio and Cruise control.

The Altima’s new generation Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) is designed to create a true synergy in the drive train with smooth, responsive, fluid-feeling performance and efficient operation.  The Altima’s environmentally-friendly fuel consumption is a further attraction for prospective owners.

“The Nissan Altima is known for its durability and high performance, which was recently experienced during the 24 hours Altima Endurance drive. Due to the enhancements on the new model of the Nissan Altima like the Xtronic CVT, all-new “D-platform”, and new generation 2.5L and 3.5L engines, we were able to achieve higher speeds than last year and therefore break 2006 records. The Altima handled the high temperature along the tough conditions of the track so well to succeed in breaking its own record once again”, said Mima

The Altima’s appeal is confirmed by independent endorsements, receiving the highest rating in the midsize car segment of the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 APEAL study as well as the AutoPacific 2007 vehicle satisfaction award for premium mid-size cars in the US.

“We expect the new Altima to continue this success and achieve new record sales throughout the region. At Nissan are sure that the new Altima is yet to broaden its fan base with its unending strive to raise the bar of status distinction”, concluded Mima.
