The Nissan Altima has done it again. Close on the heels of its record setting performance at the gruelling 24-hour endurance drive under FIA regulations, Saudi Auto magazine has chosen the Nissan Altima for the “Editor’s Choice” award as part of its first dyno test of Japanese sedans in the Middle East. It was recognised as the best sedan in its class for 2008 with top marks for durability, quality and reliability.

Saudi Auto scored Altima the highest against two similar models from other Japanese manufacturers in the following categories:

  • More technology and features
    Such as the Altima’s keyless entry (‘Intelligent Key’) and Push Button Ignition.

  • CVT Transmission
    The superior performance of its variable transmission system (‘Xtronic CVT’) offers a sportier performance compared to similar sedans.

  • Performance
    The Altima’s state-of-the-art engine is not just more powerful, but also more responsive on the open road.

  • Design
    The exterior design was rated amongst the best in its class.

  • Comfort
    Complete noise-cancellation inside the car and a refined interior offer higher level of comfort.

This award adds another decoration on Altima in addition to the world-wide accolades received earlier. Altima had won the “Most Appealing Midsize Car”Go on, make the Nissan Altima your first choice!  in J.D. Power and Associates 2007 APEAL Study and the AutoPacific 2007 Vehicle Satisfaction Award’s "Premium Mid-size Car.” Also, U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has proven Altima’s safety records by giving it the highest rating – 5 stars, for front-impact crash safety.
